Ian Watts is a UK based photographer.

His commercial work encompasses event, PR, brochure, film stills and architectural/interior design photography. Ian is also happy to document weddings and other special social occasions. His travel stock photography is focussed on a contemporary, sometimes playful look at the world and has been published both in the UK and overseas.

Eschewing artifice in favour of a more contemporary naturalistic 'lifestyle' approach, Ian's approach favours a strong and dynamic composition based on the interplay of elements - light and shadow, colour and form. Ian's work is often less about the subject per se and more about capturing the mood, atmosphere and feeling. By focusing on special moments, expressions, details and character, Ian seeks to convey the essence of an occasion or location.

From a technical point of view, Ian's working methods favour the use of natural light, a rejection of special effects and a preference for more 'normal' photographic perspectives. Ian is happy to work using high quality digital or traditional film capture.
